Thoroughbred aftercare funding organizations Blue Horse Charities and Thoroughbred Charities of America (TCA) have both awarded New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program grants to aid their efforts to rehabilitate, retrain, and rehome retired Thoroughbreds.

“We are very grateful to receive both grants and have the continued support of two worthy organizations,” shared New Vocations program director Anna Ford. “We have new horses arriving into the program on a weekly basis and it’s only through grants and private donations that our doors have remained open.”

Erin Crady, executive director of TCA, added, “New Vocations has successfully met all grant criteria for TCA and Blue Horse Charities. We are happy to include them among our 2013 grantees. Funding from TCA and Blue Horse will assist New Vocations’ ongoing efforts to rehabilitate, retrain, and adopt out off-the-track Thoroughbreds.

Formed by the Thoroughbred auction firm Fasig-Tipton in 2001, Blue Horse Charities assists nonprofit organizations that work to offer adoption solutions for Thoroughbreds no longer suitable for breeding or racing. The charity is financed in equal parts by buyers, consignors, and Fasig-Tipton. TCA is the managing agent of Blue Horse Charities
