Free Equine Rescue Seminar

What would you do if your horse got stuck in the mud around the pond or at a river crossing? What if he were trapped in an overturned trailer? Those are just two of the scenarios that will be addressed in free equine rescue seminars sponsored by Hagyard-Davidson-McGee Associates at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Ky., on Oct. 23 and 26.

Demonstrations of large animal rescue equipment will be given at the free equine rescue seminar Oct. 26 in Lexington, Ky.

Emergency personnel (police, firefighters, etc.) will attend special sessions on Oct. 23 from 8 a.m. to noon that feature equine rescue demonstrations and hands-on practice during the seminar. Horses trained to be “stuck and rescued” from mud and taught to lay quietly for trailer rescue will be a high point of this seminar and allow real-life scenarios to be duplicated.

The general public is invited on Oct. 26 from 8 a.m. til 3 p.m. for the demonstrations and to visit with the Code 3 Associates, a Colorado-based mobile rescue unit that is fully equipped and housed in a semi-trailer rig
