Two Wyoming men have been charged with animal cruelty after allegedly abandoning three horses in the Washakie Wilderness, in Park County, earlier this year.

Two of the three were subsequently found near the same area where they were left, while the third died, apparently of starvation and exposure.

The Park County Sheriff’s Department began investigating the incident. Following their rescue, the surviving horses were placed with a veterinarian for rehabilitative care.

On July 26, the animals’ owners David and Bradley Flint were each charged with three counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty for failing to provide the horses with food, drink, or protection, said a representative for the Park County Circuit Court clerk. If convicted, the men could each face penalties of up to six months in jail and $750 in fines for each count
