Poll Recap: Horse Bedding Choices

What type of bedding to you use in your horse’s stall? We posed this question to our readers in last week’s online poll. More than 1,000 people responded, and we’ve tallied the results!

Of the 1,087 respondents, 559 (51%) said they use wood shavings or chips to bed their horses’ stalls, and 113 people (10%) use wood pellets for bedding. Another 83 individuals (8%) said they use straw for bedding, 13 respondents (1%) use peat moss, and 69 people (6%) use other types of bedding. Some 95 people (9%) said their stalls have dirt floors or mats that they don’t bed, and the remaining 155 respondents (14%) said their horses don’t live in stalls.

Additionally, more than 100 people shared their thoughts about bedding.
