Effective Sept. 1, the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) is requiring equestrians to report equine medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA, commonly referred to as Depo-Provera) administration within 90 days before a USEF-licensed competition, and a new form must be filed with each subsequent MPA administration.

The USEF offers an electronic MPA disclosure form, and announced Nov. 14 that it has added an autofill feature to simplify repeat reporting. The feature automatically adds the horse’s information, leaving only the most recent dose, date, and time to fill in.

Here’s how it works:

1. File your first MPA disclosure report for a horse. Use the online MDA disclosure form. If your horse or pony is USEF-registered, under “Identification of Horse/Pony” you can type in his or her horse identification number and the required information (horse name, owner, trainer, etc.) will autofill. If your horse does not have a horse identification number you can still fill in the information for owner, trainer, etc., yourself. Then, click the “Create” button at the bottom of the form
