TheHorse.com is a finalist in two categories for the 2014 Equine Online Equestrian Social Media Awards (ESMA)—"Best Use of Social Media by a Publication" (Category 6), and "Best Use of Social Media in the Americas" (Category 21). Additionally, TheHorse.com has been named a finalist in the Equestrian Digital Awards’ (EDA) "Website >20K Visitors" category, and TheHorse.com’s 5 Things You Need to Know video series is a finalist in the EDAs’ rich media category.

The finalists in each ESMA category were selected from more than 17,100 nominations from more than 5,100 individuals. Selections were based on the strength of supporting statements made in nominations, and the degree to which they are active and engaging in their online efforts. This year, two prizes up for grabs in each category: The first will be the Judges’ Choice ESMA, decided by an expert panel of the global equestrian industry’s most talented marketers and media professionals, and the second is the People’s Choice ESMA, 100% decided by voters.

Voters can view the list of finalists in each category and cast their votes at www.equestriansocialmediaawards.com/finalists-esma. Voting closes at 4 p.m. (GMT) on Feb. 7, 2014.

Meanwhile, the Equestrian Creative Network introduced five new EDA categories. The winners in these categories will be decided by the expert panel, and winners will be announced Feb. 24
