Nebraska Police Seek Help to Find Horse Shooter

Scotts Bluff County, Neb., law enforcement authorities are hoping the public can help them identify those responsible for shooting a Paint Horse in its pasture last month.

Scotts Bluff County Sheriff Mark L. Overman said that deputies responded to a report that a horse had been shot in November. The horse was wounded and later euthanized by a veterinarian, Overman said.

Overman said his department subsequently conducted an investigation, but leads are scant.

“The family tells us they have no one who wants to harm them, and even though it was hunting season, I cannot believe a responsible hunter would shoot at something before knowing what it was,” Overman said
