Want to test your equine knowledge? Send a team to compete in the Pony Club Invitational Quiz Challenge. Teams will compete at Championships during the 2014 United States Pony Club (USPC) Festival being held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Ky., July 14–21.

Pony Club has been teaching horse management skills since 1954 and is committed to making competitive educational opportunities available to other equine organizations and their members. The USPC Quiz Challenge competition consists of five phases designed to test each competitor's equine knowledge in both the classroom and the barn. Quiz question materials will be based on the Pony Club C-1 and C-2 Standards of Proficiency, and will utilize the 2014 Pony Club Quiz Rulebook. Study materials can be found at on the USPC website.

The Quiz Challenge will begin with a welcome briefing and written test on July 15 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kentucky Horse Park's Alltech Arena, with additional competition phases being held July 16-18. The awards ceremony will be held on Friday afternoon.

Representatives from equine organizations interested in sending individuals or a team(s) to compete should contact Wayne Quarles at 859/254-7669. Entries open on May 1 and must be received by July 1. The entry fee is $1,040 for team of four or $260 per individual
