Stolen Georgia Horse Recovered in South Carolina

A Quarter Horse stolen from his paddock in McDonough, Georgia, has been recovered, but his pasturemate is still missing, the animals’ owner said.

Owner Rachel Moore said Buddy, a 14-year-old Quarter Horse, and Henry, a 23-year-old retired Thoroughbred racehorse, were in their pasture when she checked on them in the early morning hours of Sept. 21. But by the time she called them in for their morning feed, both horses were gone.

“The just didn’t come in, so I went out into the pasture to look for them,” Moore said.

While checking fences, Moore found that one section of fence had been pushed over. Henry County Police Department personnel later determined that the fence had been cut and laid down. Both animals are believed to have been loaded into a waiting trailer, Moore said
