The American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) and The Horse: Your Guide To Equine Health Care announced a renewal of their strategic partnership at the 45th annual AAEP convention held in Albuquerque, N.M. The goal of the partnership is to promote owner education based on accurate, reliable equine health information. The partnership, now entering its sixth year, furnishes members of the Association with a yearly subscription to The Horse magazine and provides the publication with an editorial advisory board comprised of prominent veterinary experts.

In addition to being mailed to the 5,600 members of the AAEP, the monthly magazine provides free subscriptions to more than 1,200 AAEP student members now enrolled in veterinary schools in dozens of countries around the world.

“Delivery of factual, accurate information on health care matters to the horse owner and caregiver is of prime importance to AAEP,” said 1999 AAEP President Robert Lewis, DVM. “Indeed, it is one of the four major initiatives that form the basis of the AAEP’s current strategic plan. AAEP’s relationship with The Horse is totally compatible with that strategy. AAEP is very pleased with our experience with The Horse and are excited about continuing our arrangement.”

Members of the AAEP Editorial Advisory Board, who help guide the direction and content of the magazine, are as follows: Atwood C. Asbury, DVM; Khristina D. Crowe, DVM; Eleanor M. Green, DVM, Dipl.
