After four months of competition, the 2016 Time to Ride Challenge concluded Sept. 30.

Nationwide, stables, clubs, and businesses in the grassroots contest have been working hard to win their share of $100,000 cash and prizes by introducing new people to horses. A record number of 1,004 events were held throughout this year’s competition.

As soon as event hosts have submitted their last reports by the Oct. 10 deadline, the final results will be tallied. The winners across three divisions (small, medium, and large) will be announced in late October.

Ten winners in each division will take home cash, with champions earning $10,000 each. New in 2016, hosts who reach at least 100 newcomers will automatically win $100 cash. The challenge also awards cash to the top written entries in its best practices contest, which rewards hosts for innovative marketing and event strategies that successfully engage newcomers with horses
