Law enforcement authorities in Louisiana are seeking the owners of three stray horses discovered wandering in Caddo Parish earlier this week.

Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Cindy Chadwick said that on Oct. 17 Sheriff’s Deputies found a stallion, a mare, and a gelding wandering the Keithville area. She had no specific information about the animals’ condition.

The animals will remain under Sheriff’s Department care while their owners are sought. If the horses remain unclaimed after two weeks they will be sold at auction.

"Meanwhile, we’re feeding them and taking care of them," Chadwick said
