Iowa State University researchers are studying an innovative immunotherapy using an antibody called anti-CD47 for the reduction of equine skin tumors. They’re seeking equine participants for their study.

Purpose: To evaluate and compare the effectiveness of anti-CD47 antibodies versus a control treatment on equine skin tumor size reduction.

Who is eligible? All horses with skin tumors that are 5 centimeters (approximately 2 inches) in diameter or less.

What will be done? The tumor will be injected once per day for two days with the injection site being monitored daily. The tumor size will be measured and photographed. Biopsies of the tumor will be taken and bloodwork will be performed
