Authorities in Concordia Parish, Louisiana, are hoping a cash reward will help them identify who shot three horses grazing in a pasture near Lake Concordia.

Sheriff Kenneth Hendrick said sheriff's personnel responded to a call from an owner who found two horses dead in their pasture on June 21; a third horse was found wounded. All three animals had sustained gunshot wounds from a rifle, he said.

“These were all horses that someone had taken good care of,” Hendrick said.

The Concordia Parish Sheriff's Department continues to investigate the case, he said
