BIVI Seeking Proposals for Equine Research Awards

Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc. (BIVI) is once again asking public and private researchers studying equine infectious diseases to submit proposals for the 2016 Equine Research Awards.

“BIVI knows that the future of equine health lies in identifying new disease treatment and prevention methods, which is why we support the research awards,” said Steve Grubbs, DVM, PhD, Dipl. ACVIM, equine technical manager for BIVI. “Through this program, we are committed to helping advance the understanding, diagnosis and prevention of equine diseases.”

Proposals must address the following focus areas for consideration:

  • Practical application and ability to improve the diagnosis, pathogenesis, transmission, control, and/or prevention of equine infectious disease(s); and
  • Disease(s) can be bacterial or viral etiologies.

Veterinarians, diagnosticians, and public and private researchers in the United States and Canada are eligible to submit proposals for research programs that help advance the diagnosis, treatment, and understanding of equine infectious diseases. Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica will give a total of $75,000 in five individual $15,000 awards to fund selected studies
