Horse Drowns on Oregon Beach

The horse reportedly fell on a beach near Bullards Beach State Park and was unable to rise before being washed into the ocean, where the animal drowned.

A horse is dead after falling and drowning on an Oregon beach.

Richard Walkoski, spokesman from the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department Communications and Research Division, said a group of riders were on the beach near Bullards Beach State Park, in Bandon, on Sept. 26, when one of the horses fell and was unable to rise.

“The horse fell close enough to the ocean that the surf washed (the animal) into the water and it drowned,” Walkoski said.

The owner later removed the animal from the beach, Walkoski said
