Wyoming Man Charged in Horse Death

A Wyoming man filmed allegedly maltreating a horse has been charged with animal cruelty.

Earlier this month, a witness made a video depicting Forrest Stearns standing next to a horse tied to the ground. The video was posted to a social media site and subsequently obtained by the Teton County, Wyoming, Sheriff’s office. The horse died shortly after the video was made, a written statement by Teton County Sheriff Jim Whalen said.

During an interview, the witness provided credible evidence that the animal had been tied to the ground for about three hours.

“Prior to receiving this statement, investigators did not believe there was enough substantiation of evidence to warrant the citation,” the sheriff’s statement said
