The 18th Bluegrass Laminitis Symposium will return to Louisville, Ky., in 2007 with a full slate of international speakers sharing information on the diagnosis and treatment of laminitis and other diseases involving the equine foot. The Symposium is slated for Jan. 25-28, 2007 at the Galt House Hotel & Suites and is open to the public.


Topics include radiography, venograms, application of new laminitis research, shoeing protocols, and case studies from France, Italy, and the United States. Ancillary topics include evaluating and treating crushed heel syndrome, improving vet/farrier/client relationships, white line disease and new treatments for angular deformities in foals. Speakers scheduled for the Symposium include Alan Bailey, AWCF; William Baker, DVM; Lorenzo D’Arpe, DVM; Richard Mansmann, VMD, PhD; Rustin Moore, DVM, PhD, DACVS; R.F. (Ric) Redden, DVM; and Amy Rucker, DVM.


A radiographic session is also being taught by R.F. (Ric) Redden, DVM. The workshop covers techniques for achieving high-quality, consistent, diagnostic radiographs while also learning to interpret the information. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own film for evaluation and study.


Numerous vendors will also have products on display during the marketplace. Admission to the marketplace is free and open to the public
