Poll Recap: Off-Track Thoroughbreds

Many Thoroughbreds go on to have second careers after their racing careers conclude. Off-track Thoroughbreds (OTTBs) can be seen excelling in many different disciplines, ranging from eventing and jumping to barrel racing and cattle work.

With the 2015 Thoroughbred Makeover and National Symposium and Breeders’ Cup World Championships fresh on our minds, we were curious about our readers’ experiences with OTTBs. In last week’s poll, we asked our readers if they have owned or ridden an off-track Thoroughbred. More than 750 people responded, and we’ve tallied the results!

Of the 775 respondents, 560 (72%) said they have owned or ridden an OTTB, while the remaining 215 individuals (28%) said they have not
