The Kentucky Horse Council has announced the topic for the February Kentucky Equine Networking Association (KENA) dinner: Game Changers: Who’s Responsible?

The dinner presented by Dinsmore & Shohl LLP will be held on Feb. 16 at Fasig-Tipton in Lexington, Kentucky. The event is open to both equine professionals and horse owners and will feature a networking reception from 5:30-6:00 p.m., followed by dinner with the main speakers from 6-8 p.m.

The group, focused on the Kentucky Thoroughbred, sport, and pleasure horse community, is charged with the mission of providing an educational and social venue for equine professionals and horse enthusiasts from all disciplines. Organized by the Kentucky Horse Council and supported by the University of Kentucky Ag Equine Program, KENA is designed to provide the opportunity for attendees to share ideas, business strategies, and knowledge, and to obtain up-to-date information on horse and farm management.

February’s speakers will be Sonja Keating, Esq., general counsel for the United States Equestrian Federation, and Dionne Benson, DVM, executive director of the Racing Medication and Testing Consortium (RMTC). Keating will provide an update and commentary on new and proposed competition rules regulations, including uncertainty in U.S. competition regarding responsible parties. Benson will speak on the proposed uniform medication rules from the RMTC as well as new regulations facing the Thoroughbred industry
