A Michigan woman is facing multiple animal cruelty charges after law enforcement authorities removed 32 horses and more than 200 other animals from her property in Lenawee County.

In a written statement, the Lenawee County Sheriff's Office said that, on Dec. 19, 2017, deputies responded to a complaint about a woman selling dogs that were misrepresented as puppies and providing false documentation to buyers.

During their an investigation, deputies discovered 32 horses in poor condition residing on the woman’s property without access to adequate food or water, the statement said.

Acting on a warrant, law enforcement personnel removed all 32 horses along with 200 dogs, five cats, and two peacocks on Jan. 3. The following day, the property owner Sharon Kay Evans was arrested and charged with animal abandoning/cruelty to ten or more animals, a four-year felony, the statement said
