A well-built, sturdy fence is worth it’s weight in gold when it comes to keeping horses confined in a designated area. But horse fencing is no longer limited to wood planks and barbed wire. Today, there are many options available to horse owners, including no-climb wire, vinyl, even rubber fencing. And last week, we asked our readers what type of fencing they use on their horse farm or facility. More than 850 people responded, and we’ve tallied the results!

Of the 873 respondents, 257 (29%) said they use electric fence on their farm, followed closely by 248 (28%) who said they use wood plank fencing. Another 182 people (21%) said they have wire mesh or no-climb wire fencing for their horses, while 42 respondents (5%) use PVC fencing. The remaining 144 individuals (16%) said they use another type of fencing.
