On Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 6:30 p.m., Kathryn Wulster, VMD, will present a lecture on 3-D printing and its use in large animal veterinary medicine.

The presentation is part of the First Tuesday Lecture Series at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine (Penn Vet) New Bolton Center and will take place at 382 West Street Road, in Kennett Square.

Wulster, a radiologist and assistant professor of diagnostic imaging at Penn Vet, will show several examples of 3-D bone models she designs and prints based on computed tomography (CT) images. The models can be used to teach students about radiographic anatomy, to show an abnormality to animal owners, or for surgeons to practice complicated procedures. New Bolton Center plans to acquire a 3-D printer this month and print the models on-site.

One of the few radiologists in the country who specializes in equine medicine in the country, Wulster earned her VMD from Penn Vet in 2012. She completed a residency in diagnostic imaging at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in 2016, and is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Radiology
