The Brooke Announces Newest U.S. Board Members
- Topics: Article
The world’s largest international equine welfare charity, the Brooke, is announcing the appointment of two new members to its U.S. board of directors. Paul Lunn, BVSc, MS, PhD, MRCVS, Dipl. ACVIM, and John Nicholson were installed Nov. 17.
For 80 years the Brooke has worked to improve the welfare of equine animals who labor in some of the harshest environments and poorest communities on earth. Under the leadership of an international board of directors, including current president Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cornwall, last year the Brooke reached more than 1.4 million horses, donkeys, and mules and six million people who depend on them across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Central America. The Brooke provides free veterinary care through static and mobile veterinary clinics in bustling cities and remote villages, and teaches sustainable equine welfare practices to owners.
