Of the 400 voters, 79% said they had never heard of the disease, and only 5% had known a horse with it.

Of the 400 voters, 316 (79%) said they had never heard of the disease. Another 65 respondents (16%) said they had heard of the disease, but have not known a horse with it; and only 19 voters (5%) said they had known a horse with this disease
