Water is a crucial component of every horse’s diet. Depending on the time of year, an adult horse can drink from five to 10 gallons of water per day, which makes it extremely important for horses to have clean, fresh water accessible to them at all times.

In last week’s online poll, we asked our readers how they currently water their horses. More than 1,100 people responded and we’ve tallied the results!

Of the 1,144 respondents, 485 (42%) said they used a stock tank to provide water for their horses, while 332 (29%) use buckets. Another 261 individuals (23%) use automatic waterers for their horses. The remaining 66 respondents (6%) said their horses get water via natural waterways (such as a pond or stream)
