A New York woman convicted in 2013 of maltreating dozens of horses is now accused of violating terms of her probation.

In March 2010, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Serving Erie County removed 73 allegedly neglected horses from Beth Hoskins' Aurora, New York, farm. The SPCA said the animals were allegedly discovered living in filth in several barns on the farm, and were thin and dehydrated. All the animals were placed under SPCA care. Hoskins was later charged with 74 counts of animal cruelty; she pleaded not guilty to the charges.

In July 2013, Hoskins was found guilty on 52 counts of the 74 misdemeanor counts; during the same proceeding, she was acquitted on 22 animal cruelty counts.

During her October 2013, sentencing, Hoskins was ordered to serve three years' probation and to pay $52,410 in fines. She was also ordered to participate in counseling and treatment, and was sentenced to serve 500 hours of community service
