The Equine Sciences Academy (ESA) has recently named equine nutritionist Juliet M. Getty, PhD, to their panel of advisors. Getty joins a group of industry leaders who review, critique, and contribute materials to ESA courses.

The Equine Sciences Academy (ESA) has recently named equine nutritionist Juliet M. Getty, PhD, to their panel of advisors. Getty joins a group of industry leaders who review, critique, and contribute materials to ESA courses.

Getty espouses a philosophy in harmony with that of the academy–that of taking a holistic approach to horse health and well-being.

"Factors that affect the horse’s mind lead to hormonal responses that have a physiological effect on bodily systems, including digestion, immunity, hoof health, and the hindgut microbial population," said Getty.

Getty’s goal is to "emphasize the importance of allowing horses to eat as closely as they would in a natural setting–to allow horses to simply be horses." Her book, Feed Your Horse Like a Horse, emphasizes this approach
