Would have selected "filly" but we need geldings.

12/17/2012 7:24:10 PM

depends on the bloodlines an the inteded use of the offspring

12/17/2012 6:53:05 PM

selecting sex wld depend on the mating but mares are better in general

12/17/2012 10:21:06 AM

I've always had better luck with mares

12/17/2012 9:42:07 AM

We like the girls. More heart, less fooling around than the colts.

12/17/2012 8:55:27 AM

That's not my job!!!

12/16/2012 9:31:17 PM

yes, but would depend on breed, year and situation

12/16/2012 7:36:51 PM

I'm just not a mare person, a filly would be sold or given away immediatly

12/16/2012 7:00:19 PM

Sex selection=breed's downfall.

12/16/2012 2:58:19 PM

But it would deprnd on what Gender biased result you wanted.

12/16/2012 2:55:52 PM

We manipulate the miracle of birth enough... it's part of the mystery & excitement.

12/16/2012 9:07:24 AM

I feel this is disgusting.

12/15/2012 11:31:48 PM

I've had mostly colts through the years and would really appreciate a filly!

12/15/2012 10:19:54 PM

I would want to make sure that the best sperm available creates my foal. which method of selection?

12/15/2012 3:17:37 PM

I would be getting the horse that I hoped for instead of putting yet another Horse on the market .

12/15/2012 8:31:37 AM

if it gets this advanced then all the breeders will stop breeding what they throw away ,yea!!

12/15/2012 5:37:41 AM

Find geldings more trustworthy for inexperienced riders

12/14/2012 11:47:50 PM

I would consider it, if it would be the last breeding for an older mare.

12/14/2012 10:12:16 PM

Actually, yes, but colt or filly would depend on the circumstances.

12/14/2012 6:16:19 PM

got beautiful colts but no filly to carry on the damline of two mares

12/14/2012 4:25:14 PM

A colt then castrate it

12/14/2012 2:25:31 PM

I am a breeder, and I would like the option of keeping the best one...too often they are colts!

12/14/2012 1:14:01 PM

I want the option, but which depends on the breeding.

12/14/2012 12:55:24 PM

I like to be suprised!

12/14/2012 12:24:10 PM

I find geldings generally easier for me to get along with.

12/13/2012 9:39:15 PM

I've had great experiences with mares and would love to be guaranteed one.

12/13/2012 6:39:34 PM

Although I don't think it's a bad idea, it is not something I would want to do.

12/13/2012 6:15:56 PM

That job is above my pay grade.

12/13/2012 5:57:24 PM

There would be less foals left to grow up ignored and untrained in the pasture.

12/13/2012 5:42:25 PM

For me fillies are just easier. I feel like I can 'ask' a mare, and often have to 'tell' a gelding.

12/13/2012 5:39:41 PM

Mares are the best. Growing up on ranchs mares were the hardest working and were not distracted.

12/13/2012 4:00:28 PM

in my dreams, I would breed the sire and dam of my favorite old Appaloosa gelding. I miss him

12/13/2012 2:19:22 PM

we prefer geldings

12/13/2012 9:53:01 AM

A question that requires much thought.

12/13/2012 8:48:20 AM

I would love to produce more fillies

12/13/2012 5:45:43 AM

Depending on the mare, pedigree and future career of the horse, then I would like to select the gender

12/12/2012 11:58:15 PM

I have had both mares and geldings. Both have their pluses & minuses so I would love whatever I got

12/12/2012 8:40:59 PM

should have had a simple "yes" answer. For me it would be filly or colt, depending on various things

12/12/2012 8:33:26 PM

My mare has already given us a colt.

12/12/2012 7:06:16 PM

When you breed for a trait, especially gender, you drag along an uneven number of associated issues

12/12/2012 6:28:24 PM

One should not mess with nature.

12/12/2012 6:19:13 PM

Value after racing career.

12/12/2012 5:29:04 PM

a Colt, to be gelded. Were not into breeding.

12/12/2012 5:22:24 PM

Yes, but would depend on what I was breeding for at the time...great to have the choice.

12/12/2012 4:33:09 PM

Geldings are 'made in heaven,' as the saying goes!

12/12/2012 4:31:37 PM

Soon there will be no breeders just cloners no thought no expertise no surprises.

12/12/2012 3:15:57 PM

It would be very nice to have had a filly

12/12/2012 12:29:08 PM

I have a question. Equine semen is sexed in the same way that the bull by flow cytometry or differen

12/12/2012 11:23:46 AM

Depends on the circumstances at the time

12/12/2012 11:21:25 AM

This is one time when a little horse-surprise is welcome!

12/12/2012 11:10:44 AM

If it was not too expensive

12/12/2012 9:55:46 AM

In my breed, mares are worh more, so I would choose fillies.

12/12/2012 8:24:14 AM

Filly to be able to breed after a competition career.

12/12/2012 8:11:10 AM

Let Nature take it's course !

12/12/2012 7:25:21 AM

As long as the process was safe

12/12/2012 7:23:29 AM

Love to have a filly --- no ready for a colt

12/12/2012 4:11:30 AM

Nothing compares to the way a female equine expresses the magnificent Yin life force.

12/12/2012 2:13:00 AM

Geldings are just generally calmer and also easier to sell

12/12/2012 1:22:22 AM

If I breed only in the morning I will get colts.

12/12/2012 1:12:10 AM

where's the fun in knowing!

12/12/2012 1:12:04 AM

Both fillies and colt bring both gender specific and individual traits that make each foal a joy!

12/11/2012 11:13:20 PM

you should not fool the balance of nature

12/11/2012 10:01:29 PM

I breed for the market and the boys sell for better prices.

12/11/2012 9:39:32 PM

If breeders could choose the sex of the foals, it could help with the unwanted horse problem.

12/11/2012 8:50:58 PM

All I'd want is a safe delivery and a healthy foal

12/11/2012 8:26:40 PM

No, it opens up one heck of a can of worms.

12/11/2012 8:16:20 PM

Would certainly select a filly for likely two pregnancies eg 2nd & 3rd to ensure a breeding line.

12/11/2012 7:59:31 PM

Probably not, however, if mare keeps producing same sex it would be an option

12/11/2012 7:43:48 PM

I'd choose sex case by case per mating, so the answer I need doesn't exist in this survey

12/11/2012 7:15:38 PM

Shame it's so expensive though :-(

12/11/2012 7:01:06 PM

Filly would be worth more.

12/11/2012 6:59:54 PM

yes I would... depending on the market.

12/11/2012 6:55:51 PM

Either way if the conformation is good the horse could be used for future breeding purposes.

12/11/2012 6:49:53 PM

Depends on the cost.

12/11/2012 6:48:25 PM

I don't breed. Also, don't mess with Mother Nature.

12/11/2012 6:41:32 PM

4 fillies and no colts makes me want to choose.

12/11/2012 6:39:47 PM

I show and just prefer a gelding.

12/11/2012 6:16:58 PM

I would like to see TBs bred by AI

12/11/2012 6:11:14 PM

I don't believe in engineering natural things

12/11/2012 6:06:04 PM

I like surprises

12/11/2012 5:38:46 PM

Gelded, of course.

12/11/2012 5:35:39 PM

however, I do not breed!!!

12/11/2012 5:32:09 PM

It would depend on the added cost.....

12/11/2012 5:28:32 PM

Choosing the sex would also depend on the mare, but yes, I would love the option for all of my mares

12/11/2012 5:19:24 PM

I have better luck selling fillys.

12/11/2012 5:16:12 PM

More options for fillies - few colts stay entire, and geldings can be unusable if injured.

12/11/2012 5:10:55 PM

I have no preference and would also discourage any breeding with current status of the horse world

12/11/2012 5:09:55 PM

I LOVE my mares! I wouldn't have another gelding, they just don't suit me.

12/11/2012 5:03:43 PM

Geldings are the bees knees.

12/11/2012 4:57:17 PM

I like the mares and geldings

12/11/2012 4:43:39 PM

Only if it was more reasonably priced than it was a few years ago when it was offered

12/11/2012 4:43:39 PM

Actually, YES TO BOTH filly/colt choices. It would depend entirely on the mare/stallion selection.

12/11/2012 4:41:32 PM

Personally, I think knowing would take some of the fun/surprise out of the endeavor.

12/11/2012 2:59:25 PM

Geldings are so much less drama...

12/11/2012 12:58:59 PM

This would depend on one's business/pleasure plan.

12/11/2012 12:12:42 PM

Yes I would, but which sex would depend on which mare/breeding/year bred etc

12/11/2012 9:21:06 AM
