Colic. It’s one of a horse owner’s worst nightmares. While some colics can be relieved medically, others can’t. If you found your horse in need or colic surgery,   what would you do?  

In last week’s online poll, we asked our readers how likely they would be to have colic surgery performed on their horse if it was necessary. More than 1,100 people responded and we’ve tallied the results!

Of the 1,116 respondents, 615 (55%) said they would have to consider the possible outcomes of colic surgery with their veterinarian before making a decision. Another 229 individuals (21%) said they would have colic surgery done on their horse with no hesitation. The remaining 272 respondents (24%) said they would not have colic surgery performed
