Footing: Crushed Gravel

Crushed 5/8-inch gravel provides a well-draining surface for horses to stand on and makes manure scooping easy.

Individual Paddocks

Paddocks are 12 feet by 50 feet and house horses separately but in close proximity. Individual paddocks allow the owners to monitor each horse's food and water intake. Gutters and downspouts direct clean rainwater away from paddocks, reducing mud as well as surface-water pollution from manure and urine runoff.

Manure Management and Compost

All manure on-site is picked up daily and composted. Two bins are positioned for chore efficiency to allow easy dumping, as well as to access the finished compost on the pasture side.
