Virginia Tech to Host Equine Anesthesia CE Weekend

Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University’s Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center, located in Leesburg, has announced it will be hosting equine anesthesia lectures and wet labs for veterinarian professionals during their Equine Anesthesia Continuing Education (CE) Weekend. The basic programs will be held on Oct. 8, and the advanced programs will be held Oct. 9.

The basic program will begin at 8:00 a.m. and will cover the following topics in lectures:

  • Drugs used in equine anesthesia;
  • Equipment and monitoring in equine anesthesia;
  • Complications in equine anesthesia; and
  • Anesthesia for specific procedures.

The afternoon wet lab for the basic program will include hands-on practice in all phases of equine anesthesia.

The advanced program will also begin at 8:00 a.m
