One Horse Dies, Another Injured at Oregon Rodeo

One horse has died and another is recovering after a collision at last week’s Molalla Buckeroo Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) Rodeo in Oregon.

A statement from the Molalla Buckeroo Association indicates that two riders and their horses were participating in the grand entry performance on July 1 when their horses collided. One horse sustained multiple leg fractures and was subsequently euthanized, the statement said; the other is expected to make a full recovery.

One rider suffered a broken collarbone and a broken finger in the incident, while the second was bruised in the collision. Both riders were treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel and transported to a hospital for further valuation, the statement said.
