The Western Veterinary Conference (WVC) announced June 19 the appointment of Ann Rashmir-Raven, DVM, MS, Dipl. ACVS, as the new equine education manager. Rashmir-Raven will start a 4-year term during which she will help determine the course of WVC programming by developing learning options and refining and expanding new topics and formats.

Rashmir-Raven looks forward to her new role as WVC’s equine education manager, which she considers "a fabulous opportunity to be associated with a premier meeting in the veterinary field." She has been a WVC attendee for more than 20 years and a speaker who has been twice nominated as WVC Equine Educator of the Year.

One of Rashmir-Raven’s primary goals for the equine program is growing the content to ensure that every attendee with an equine interest, whether dedicated strictly to horses or working in mixed practice, feels that being at WVC is a quality use of time. She is also a proponent of more year-round equine lab offerings at the Oquendo Center, a veterinary and medical training facility in Las Vegas, Nev.
