Ponies Perish in Kentucky Barn Fire

A barn fire has killed a group of ponies residing near the Oldham and Shelby county line in Kentucky.

Peewee Valley Fire Chief Robert Hamilton said the barn's owner reported the fire in the early morning hours of Oct. 6.

“He looked outside and saw the center of the barn collapse, then he saw flames shooting out of both sides of the barn,” Hamilton said.

Personnel from the Peewee Valley Fire Department, as well as from the Eastwood and South Oldham fire departments, responded, Hamilton said
