New York Drug-Testing Lab to Move to Morrisville State

Morrisville State College instead of Cornell University will soon be testing race horses for unauthorized drugs.
The state Assembly and Senate have passed bills to cancel an exclusive agreement with Cornell to test horses at racetracks throughout the state. The legislation is awaiting the governor’s signature.
New York State Racing and Wagering Board Chairman John Sabini said the drug-testing program would be a perfect fit for Morrisville State. The college is building a new multi-million dollar equine rehabilitation and physiology facility.
The relocation of the test laboratory to Madison County, N.Y., will also further a local effort to market the Route 20 corridor as "Equine Alley
