Suzie O’Cain Elected to TRF Board

The Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation (TRF) has announced Suzie O’Cain has been elected to serve on the organization’s board of directors.

O’Cain and her husband, C. Lynwood O’Cain, DVM, are Saratoga Springs, N.Y., residents who for 23 years managed Highcliff Farm in Delanson, N.Y.

She has served nine terms on the board of New York Thoroughbred Breeders (NYTB) and is a director and past president of Thoroughbred Women, Inc. She has also served as co-chairwoman of the Political Action Committee of the NYTB and as chairwoman of its media committee. Suzie O’Cain also founded "Find A Cure Stable, LLC" to race horses for the benefit of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Founded in 1983 and based in Saratoga Springs, the TRF provides retraining and lifetime care for Thoroughbred horses through its 17 satellite farms and at nine correctional facilities. According to TRF, it now cares for 962 horses, with another 44 at a handful of foster farms throughout the country
