Law enforcement authorities in Florida are seeking whoever is responsible for injecting gasoline into horses grazing in a pasture in Marion County.

Valerie Strong, social media specialist for the Marion County, Florida, Sheriff's office, said that on June 6 an owner reported finding his horse dead in its Belleview, Florida, pasture.

Following a necropsy, the horse was found to have been injected with significant amounts of gasoline, Strong said.

"A strong smell of gasoline came from the wound," Strong said
