Alleged Texas Horse Thief Jailed

A man accused of stealing 210 cattle and 30 horses has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

A man accused of stealing and selling a herd of horses has been arrested in Texas.

A representative for the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) said Asher Quinn Hoxie is accused of stealing 210 head of cattle and 30 horses in 2012. At the time, Hoxie was looking after the livestock for a rancher from Odessa, Texas. The animals have not yet been recovered.

Erath County, Texas, jail records show that on June 16 Hoxie was arrested for and charged with misapplication of fiduciary property over $200,000 in connection with the theft. He was released on $20,000 bond.

The Texas Rangers have been investigating the incident, the TSCRA representative said
