A Tennessee man is facing multiple charges in connection with the death of two Pryor Mountain Bureau of Land Management (BLM) mustangs at the Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area in Wyoming earlier this week.

The Pryor Mountain mustangs are BLM-managed wild horses that reside on the Pryor Mountain Wild Horse Range. The range is composed of U.S. Forest Service, National Park Service, and BLM land. The BLM oversees horse-related activities, and the Park Service has an agreement with BLM law enforcement to investigate on one another’s property, said Cassity Bromley, chief of resources for the Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area.

Bromley said a tipster contacted park rangers around 10 a.m. on July 24 after finding the animals dead on U.S. Highway 37. The horses had been struck by a car driven by Adam Finn of Germantown, Tenn., who was found not far from the accident scene. He was uninjured, she said.

"He wasn’t hard to catch. His car just couldn’t go any further," Bromley said
