European Equine Health and Nutrition Congress: Are you interested in the relation between horse health and nutrition? The European Equine Health and Nutrition Congress (EEHNC) is a biannual congress and has grown over the years as a leading international event uniting equine nutritional and veterinary experts from around the world to share innovative ideas on equine health and nutrition. The 8th EEHNC will be organised on March 23-24, 2017, in the historic surroundings of the city centre of Antwerp (Belgium). The Congress attracts a group of equine practitioners, researchers, nutritionists and equine professionals from more than 20 countries around the world.

Advanced Equine Massage Therapy

‘Equine Biosecurity – Canada’s standard’ April 10 -28 is an online course with global appeal as protecting your horse from illness is a global goal among horse owners. Students 16 years and older, can register for this course packed with practical application at TheHorsePortal.ca Students of the biosecurity course are finding many simple changes they can make to help protect their horses from infectious disease on and off their property. The course guest speaker, Dr. Alison Moore, Lead Veterinarian, Animal Health & Welfare at Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs was also a contributor to the new National Farm-Level Biosecurity standard for the Equine Sector. Moore is well versed in articulating the reality of biosecurity being more about diligence than difficulty. Moore stresses the importance of having a biosecurity plan and being able to communicate it clearly with every member of the barn community.

Fire Prevention and Emergency Training

Participants in "Fire Prevention and Emergency Rescue Training for the Horse Racing Industry" will be making an investment in safety to help protect both horses and industry workers. The horse racing industry from all over Ontario are encouraged to participate, including: racetrack personnel (especially security, facility managers and track maintenance staff), training facility managers, trainers, grooms, veterinarians, veterinarian technicians and first responders. Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event

The Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event is the nation’s premier Three-Day Event and one of the most prestigious equestrian competitions in the world. The Fédération Equestre Internationale (International Equestrian Federation – FEI), the world’s governing body of equestrian sports, has designated the Rolex Kentucky Three–Day Event as a ‘Four Star’ eventing competition, the highest designation, which is given only to the Olympic Games, World Championships, and six annual events around the world. “Rolex Kentucky” is the only annual Four Star event in the Western Hemisphere.

Large Animal Operational Rescue Course

Dr. Gimenez is making her fourth return visit since 2014, working with Equine Guelph to bring Technical Large Animal Emergency Rescue training to first responders in Ontario. Together with Meaford fire department, this specialized 3-day hands-on "Large Animal Rescue Operational Level Course" will be offered to active fire fighters, April 28 - 30, 2017. Presented by Grey Highlands and Meaford Fire Departments and Equine Guelph, this upcoming workshop is available for active fire fighters only for $275 + hst. Minnesota Horse Expo 2017
