Following graduation, Anderson entered private practice in South Hamilton, Massachusetts, under United States Equestrian Team veterinarian A. Martin Simensen, DVM. She previously served on the board of directors from 2006-2009; as vice chair of the Racing Committee; as a member of the Foundation Advisory Council; and as a member of the Ethics and Professional Conduct, Finance and Audit, Leadership Development, Membership Development, and Nominating committees
