UC Davis to Host “Hoof Management in Sport Horses” Lecture

The 2011 Charles Heumphreus Memorial Lecture will take place on Jan. 29, 2011, at the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine. Michael Ross, DVM, Dipl. ACVS, and Patrick Reilly, farrier, both from the New Bolton Center of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, have been invited as featured speakers to discuss “Hoof Management in Sport Horses.”

The 2011 Charles Heumphreus Memorial Lecture will take place on Jan. 29, 2011, at the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine.

Michael Ross, DVM, Dipl. ACVS, and Patrick Reilly, farrier, both from the New Bolton Center of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, have been invited as featured speakers to discuss "Hoof Management in Sport Horses." The event takes place in Room 170 of Schalm Lecture Hall, located in the Health Sciences District of the UC Davis campus.

Lectures take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and glue-on shoe and in-shoe force plate demonstrations occur from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The public is welcome, and there is no charge to attend the lecture; however, donations are gratefully accepted. The afternoon demonstration is limited to 40 attendees and is on a first come, first served basis
