Tickets have gone on sale for Europe’s only four-star three-day event in 2001, the Burghley Pedigree Horse Trials, Stamford, Lincs, to be held Aug. 30-Sept. 2 in spite of the foot and mouth disease outbreak. The Badminton three-day event was cancelled earlier in the year due to movement restrictions on horses. Horses are not affected by the foot and mouth disease, but can carry it mechanically on their bodies.

Already voted by competitors the world’s most popular three-day event, this year’s Burghley event may prove more attractive than ever. As an added incentive, event director Bill Henson, is running a team competition. It is expected that the medal winning countries from the Sydney Olympics will be sending teams.

The interactive Burghley website at https://www.burghley-horse.co.uk is the place to visit for further information on the event and also offers a comprehensive and secure online ticket booking service.

A comprehensive leaflet mailing is being sent out but if you prefer to book tickets by telephone, the Box Office number is 01933 304744 or if you just need ticket information at this stage, contact the ticket information line at 01780 766868
