Ohio Authorities Probe Horse Hair Thefts

Union County, Ohio, authorities are investigating the theft of hair cut from horses in a pasture near Marysville.

Union County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Tom Morgan said an owner reported that the manes and tails of her horses had been cut on Oct. 12. It appeared that a pair of shears had been used to cut the hair from the animals, Morgan said.

The incident one of a series of horse hair thefts reported in recent months, he added.

“We had one theft in August and another in September,” Morgan said. “This is the latest one
