Owning and managing horses can mean a lot of paperwork and recordkeeping. Breed registration papers, health certificates, proofs of negative Coggin’s tests papers—the list goes on and on.

In last week’s poll, we asked our readers how they keep track of and store their horse’s health, training, management, and other records. More than 650 people responded, and we’ve tallied the results!

Of the 664 respondents, 387 (58%) said they keep hard copies of their horses’ records in a folder, while 101 (15%) said they store records in a personal paper calendar. Another 51 respondents (8%) said they keep their horses’ records in a digital spreadsheet, word processer or household budgeting software, and 35 people (5%) said they use a software or app designed for equestrians. Some 28 respondents (4%) said they keep their horses’ records in their personal digital calendar, and 24 respondents (4%) said they use other methods not mentioned. The remaining 38 individuals (6%) said they do not keep records for their horses.
