Law enforcement authorities in York County, S.C., are investigating the theft of a horse removed from its Rock Hill pasture last week.

According to a York County Sheriff’s Department report, on Nov. 4 a horse owner reported finding a pasture fence cut and her chestnut Tennessee Walking Horse–who requires daily medication–missing. A witness reported watching a man load the horse onto a trailer connected to a pickup truck, then drive away. Two other horses also located in the same pasture at the time of the incident were not disturbed.

Officer Michael L. Scurlock, assistant public information officer for the York County Sheriff’s Department, said an investigation into the incident is under way.
