How important is budget when considering how you'll treat arthritis in your horses?

I use a pricey daily supplement and have used hock injections in the past.

I allow lots low impact movement. scatter feed, seperate water and feed, so horse has to move around

If you're jobless or on a tight budget/fixed income it could certainly limit or eliminate treatment.

If my 21-year old horse is not comfortable, I won't ride, so I do whatever I can within my budget.

Been treating 26 yr.old for 16 years. Great expense but was able to ride.

Although 4 horses are senior, arthritis is minimal! Thank goodness!

After steroid injections, I had his hocks fused with alcohol injection. Also use Adequan & Cosequine

My horse doesn't have arthritis now, so I don't know how much it costs to treat it.

Since he can't tell me if he's in pain and horses are stoic, I have to be proactive and medicate.
