Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal stabbing of a horse in a pasture.

A written report indicated that the horse’s owner called police on Aug. 24 after she discovered the animal dead in a pasture. Other horses in the same pasture were unhurt, the report said. Further investigation revealed that the horse appeared to have been standing near a fence at the center of the property when he sustained four stab wounds to the neck.

Investigators believe the incident could be linked to another horse death in December 2015. Charges were brought in that case, and it remains pending, the report said.

While the investigation into the most recent stabbing continues, anyone with information should call the Oklahoma City Police Department’s Investigations Unit at 405/231-1102 or CrimeStoppers at 405/235-7300.
