The University of Bristol, in the United Kingdom, has installed a new standing MRI facility at the School of Veterinary Sciences’ equine center.

The new facility was unveiled to donors and supporters of the Langford Trust last month.

The equine MRI adds to the veterinary school’s diagnostic imaging facilities, which include a 16-slice computed tomography scanner for small animals and standing horses, digital radiography, high-resolution fluoroscopy, diagnostic ultrasound, echocardiography, and nuclear scintigraphy with a high-resolution 1.5 tesla MRI scanner.

The facility is run by Langford Veterinary Services Ltd, a totally owned subsidiary of the University of Bristol
